Re Roof and Replacement Fascias
Cladding & Fascia's South West Ltd were asked to carry out a roof inspection to determine the cause of a couple of leaks in the roof.
We carried out an assessment by removing approximately 25% of the roof tiles in various locations and found the felt to be in poor condition with ponding at eaves and numerous holes.
The fascia boards were also showing signs of rot and decay as well as leaking guttering so a free quote and survey was given to our customer with our recommendations for the replacement felt, batten and Fascias.
As with all of our works, where necessary we erect a full scaffolding system to provide a safe platform to work from, this enables us to carry out a thorough and comprehensive installation ensuring there will be no issues during the works.
This project in Yeovil, Somerset consisted of a full re roof to stop condensation and leaks which were causing water to seep into the upstairs ceilings and walls causing mould growth and damaging the walls and ceilings.
We carried out a full investigation to find that the non breathable 1F felt was as the end of its life and damaged tiles were allowing moisture into the roof space so we recommended that the roofing felt and batten was replaced,
Once our quotation and investigation was provided, free of charge, our customer accepted our proposals and we erected scaffolding to gain access to the roof where we could also assess the condition of the roofline,.
We commenced works with the replacement of the Fascias, soffits and gutters by installing new timber bearers to straighten the roofline and provide a good solid point for the uPVC Soffit boards and the new fascia boards to be attached too.
We then stripped the existing roof tiles and replaced all necessary roof tiles, laid new Proctor Roofsheild breathable roofing membrane which is a high performance membrane that comes with a 25 year guarantee and new battens were fitted to carry the tiles. The roof tiles were then re laid and the verge cement work completed.
All of our work was then thoroughly cleaned, all waste disposed off and scaffolding removed to provide a lasting maintenance free Roofline and Replacement Roof to last the test of time.
