Dormer Loft Conversion in Chew Magna, Bristol Insulation Upgrade, New Cladding & Fibreglass Roofs

The Cladding & Fascia Company we're contacted by a retired builder who was looking to upgrade the dormer windows which were showing signs of their age and deterioration to the external render covering which was leaking and looking tired.

With our customer being a retired builder of 50 years he could tell that we knew exactly how to carry out the installation to a good standard and he choose us out of three other competitors to carry out the works on his behalf.

We had scaffolding erected to gain safe access to the Dormer windows and this identified how badly deteriorated the render covering was and we set about hacking off off of the render which exposed the cause of the leaking walls with the protective membrane failed the timber boards had begun to rot away trapping all the moisture behind the render.

The existing felt roofs were in ok condition but our customer wanted the job done properly and without having the have scaffolding erected again, so we removed the existing felt roofs, installed new tongue and groove osb roof sheeting and then installed cure it premium grade fibreglass resin with a grey finish coat.

We installed new 18mm marine plywood to the sides and fronts of the dormers which we then protect with new breathable membrane and secured new battens to provide airflow behind the new Composite Cladding which we installed to complete the installation.

We had to replace the ridge tiles to the roof as well due to damaged ridges, this was carried out using new Marley ridge tiles and Danelaw dry fix system to complete the works.
